We offer a range of presentations, extended programs and research opportunities to help compliment your visit to UnderWater World and enhance your students learning.

Classroom-Style Presentations

Our Classroom-Style Presentations were created due to the overwhelming demand from groups wanting a more focused discussion from one of our expert Education Officers. These 15-45 minute presentations can be added to any guided or self-guided Day Visit program and teachers have the option to select a topic of your choice or pick from one of our existing presentations; Dangerous Marine Creatures, Aquatic Ecology or Aquarium and Marine Science Careers.

    •   Dangerous Marine Creatures

A popular presentation is designed to teach your students about some of the most venomous and poisonous animals in the ocean, how to respect these animals and how to protect themselves when visiting the beach or swimming in the ocean. Includes basic first aid tips and is the perfect accompaniment to any one of our secondary programs or as a lead up to your next marine-based field trip. Suitable for students in Years 8 to 12.

          •   Aquatic Ecology

A presentation outlining the diverse marine and freshwater aquatic ecosystems of Australia, students will discover the different aspects that make up these unique environments. Suitable for Years 7 to 12, this presentation makes a great addition to our Aquatic Ecosystems or Aquatic Communities programs.

          •   Aquarium and Marine Science Careers

This presentation is designed to help teach your students about the variety of careers available within aquariums and the Marine Science field. Led by one of our qualified Education Officers, this presentation provides unique insights into working in an aquarium environment and provides a variety of helpful tips on how to become a Marine Biologist.

Behind the Scenes Tour Add-On

This exclusive guided tour through our back-of-house area gives your students an insight to the work that goes on behind the scenes of UnderWater World. They will learn about quarantine procedures, rehabilitation of sick animals and all about diving. Suitable for all year levels, tours can be cancelled at any time due to animal emergencies, can only be added onto a fully-guided tour.
