Young Turtle Crusader Finalists

Young Turtle Crusader finalists enjoy special day at attraction...

Three turtle loving kids have been selected as finalists from over 150 entrants in the grand search for UnderWater World’s ‘Young Turtle Crusader’.

The finalists Sofie Hayes, aged 7 from Coolum, Kyle O’Connell, aged 8 from Tewantin and Oliver Anderson, aged 10 from Bli Bli, will be at UnderWater World this Saturday, enjoying a specially hosted behind-the-scenes tour to congratulate them on their outstanding entries.

The overwhelming number of entries highlights the number of Sunshine Coast children who are passionate about marine life and the protection and conservation of sea turtles.

Following the finalists’ day at the attraction, the winner will be announced on Thursday 20 December.

The winner will shadow a turtle expert at UnderWater World for two half days during the school holidays, follow the progress of an injured turtle, participate in releasing a rehabilitated turtle, interview a turtle expert and provide valuable input in UnderWater World’s educational material.
